OpenSea 🤝 Warner Music
This week, Warner Music Group announced a partnership with top NFT marketplace, Opensea. The music industry is seeing real potential in NFTs as a way for artists to hold ownership over their work and connect with fans on new levels. This partnership will give Warner Music artists the royal treatment on the platform - first access to new products, improved discoverability within the marketplace, and front and center placement to promote their upcoming projects.
The Warner Music artists could offer fans NFTs for access to unreleased music, real life experiences like shows and meet and greets, and so much more. NFTs are great for fans who want to support artists they love, and also get rewarded for their engagement and loyalty. This type of fanship helps music labels because NFTs will allow them to collect data on everything the fans do with their NFTs - every piece of merch purchased, concert attended, etc. - via the blockchain. Imagine discovering a new artist on TikTok that you just know is going to be a big star one day. What if you could invest in their future, show your loyalty early, and have a way to prove that you were the first of your friends to discover them? NFTs could make that happen.
Women in Web3 👩🏻💻

Blake Kathryn is a digital artist known in the NFT world for her unique 3D art pieces and iconic collaboration with Paris Hilton. Her signature style is characterized by 3D, futuristic, dreamlike qualities. Starting off as a freelance artist, Kathryn had many high profile collaborations, working on campaigns for brands like Adidas and Jimmy Choo. Her work caught the attention of Grammy winning artist and musical trailblazer Lil Nas X. The Old Town Road singer tapped Kathryn to create a visualizer animation for his single ‘Panini.’ The video has garnered over 60 million views on YouTube, putting Kathryn’s futuristic animations on the map in a big way.
Kathryn created her first NFT collection called ‘Terra Futura’ in December of 2020… Yes, that says 2020. She was early! The collection features 3 animations - two cyborg-type figures and a visualization of a futuristic home. Her collaboration with Paris Hilton, ‘Planet Paris,’ depicts dreamy virtual environments that invoke feelings of safety, empowerment and serenity for Paris. Kathryn goes into detail about her experience working with crypto queen Paris Hilton in an interview with NFT Now that you can watch HERE.

Her newest venture is æ Girls - an NFT project in collaboration with K-Pop group Æspa. The collection, launching next week on the Sotheby’s NFT marketplace, will feature NFT’s inspired by each member of the group - Karina, Giselle, Winter and NingNing. There will be three tiers of NFT’s, the first being an open edition access key for fans and collectors. The second tier called “Altars” will feature 32 NFT’s that are fine art graphics of the individual artists, plus a recording from each individual artist discussing the piece. The final and most exclusive tier called “Dreamspace” will include a 1:1 piece, a video recording from Æspa and Kathryn, a virtual meet-and-greet with Kathryn and a trip to Seoul to meet Æspa and experience one of their concerts.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Kathryn commented on her goals for the project, “My hope is that it reflects female artists pushing the boundaries of what’s possible, blurring the lines between real and virtual to create a new kind of fandom.”
Coinbase tell all? 🎬
A documentary about Coinbase is coming out on October 7th. Founder and CEO Brian Armstrong tweeted that the film will be a true behind the curtain view into the journey of the company, from inception to going public - the good, the bad and the ugly. Yeah we’ve heard it all, every documentary says they’ll reveal “everything.” What people really want to know is how much the film will actually delve into the many controversies surrounding the company - the abrupt exit from India, the class action lawsuit for lack of security, the SEC investigations, and claims of racial discrimination of employees of color. We’ll have to tune in and find out how they address these stories.

a break from all the crypto talk 😈
Barbarian is the most obscure film in theaters right now, and it delivers some major seat-jumping entertainment. It’s a horror film loaded with jumpscares and suspense. It’s best to go into it blind, so I won’t reveal any more details about the plot. Check out the trailer for just a taste of it… BARBARIAN | Official Trailer
